On February 10-11 2023, the World Surgical Foundation Philippines held its first-ever Pediatric Surgical Outreach in Iloilo, serving a total of 26 indigent pediatric patients suffering from anorectal malformations and Hirschsprung's disease.
Together with the World Surgical Foundation, and in partnership with the Western Visayas Medical Center, this focused-mission, a first of its kind, advocates for a better quality of life for children born with intestinal and anorectal defects and brings hope to older children who have long been struggling and living with a colostomy bag. Through this, we aspire to help children grow and live a life free from colostomy.
The surgical outreach activity was made possible through the support of the City of Iloilo, Province of Iloilo, Sun Life Philippines, Calmoseptine, Inc., Ansell, idsMED, Eon Centennial Plaza Hotel, The Cathay Drug Company Inc., Getz Pharma Philippines, Philippine College of Surgeons Foundation Inc Surgery for the Underserved Regions and for Education Commission (PCS - SURE), Philippine Society of Anesthesiologists, Inc.
