We are glad to share with you that the World Surgical Foundation Philippines (WSFP) in partnership with the Rotary Foundation and the Rotary Club of Makati Central, helped a total of 155 individuals receive life-changing surgeries during the Tawi-Tawi Surgical Outreach Activity last November 24-26, 2021 at Datu Halun Sakilan Memorial Hospital in Bongao, Tawi-Tawi. WSFP brought a team of 40 medical and non-medical volunteers, as well as state-of-the-art surgical equipment, to cater to patients suffering from neglected surgical diseases – thyroid diseases, masses, hernia, hemorrhoids, cholecystitis, parotid tumor, and cleft lip and palate to name a few.
Tawi-Tawi is one of the provinces in the country with a growing surgical backlog due to lack of surgical and anesthesia manpower – a major setback WSFP aims to address.
--- The surgical outreach activity was made possible in partnership with the Rotary Foundation and Rotary Club of Makati Central, Tawi-Tawi Provincial Government, Datu Halun Sakilan Memorial Hospital, P/E Capital Investments (a State Registered Investment Advisory Firm), Ansell, Sanosil Philippines Inc, Philippine College of Surgeons, Philippine Society of Anesthesiologists, Inc., Operating Room Nurses Association of the Philippines.
